we had the privilege of having some design professionals come give us feedback on our midterm presentations. some feedback that i received:
– old people are the cutest
– all of the ways of showing the information (in your spreads) work. some better than others, especially showing the connection.
– diversity in layout shows the diversity in stories
– is it about the individuals (their realities) or about the commonalities?
– all of the layouts can all live together in one big Full House
– rewrite your question to reflect the meaning behind the title
– remember that design is telling a story, not making one
– maybe make the thread type interactive? so people can intertwine threads
– have a blast and really push the layout
– maybe even have certain colors that relate to the different generations? different palettes for call-outs?
– maybe look at other kinds of relationships in addition to the love; especially in comparison to “one man, one woman.”
– use the thread as a visual element within the book instead of just ending stories, but have them continue into other stories
